The Parliament of Moldova has adopted a decision to exempt Ukrainian grain transiting through the country from inspection by the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA).

This was reported by Newsmaker.

Thus, the parliament has temporarily suspended the application of the law "On Plant Protection and Phytosanitary Quarantine" regarding Ukrainian grain transported through Moldova to the Romanian ports of Reni and Galati, as well as by railway. This exemption will be effective until September 14.

"This type of goods crosses our country's territory in specialized transport vehicles, so the risk of introducing quarantine organisms is low. In case of accidents involving transport or cargo during transit through Moldova, carriers must inform ANSA within two hours," the parliament's press release states.

Chairman of the parliamentary committee on agriculture and food industry, Oleksandr Trubka, who is the author of the proposal, stated that the adoption of this legislative initiative will help resolve the issue of transit of non-animal origin goods and the congestion that has arisen at the Moldovan border due to increased flow of goods from Ukraine.
