Moldova is suing the Russian Gazprom for provoking an energy crisis and ignoring obligations.
Moldovan Infrastructure Minister Andrei Spînu said in an interview with Deutsche Welle that Moldovan lawyers are already preparing a lawsuit.
"We are forced to purchase gas and electricity on the international market. And we are preparing to sue the concern for failure to fulfill the contract. We will also demand compensation for losses because through their fault we are forced to redirect funds, take loans … They simply ignore their obligations and must pay for it," Spinu stressed.
“If you ask me what else Gazprom can do, I won’t be able to answer. They cut off gas to the Bulgarians, Italians, Germans, Ukraine, cut off Poland and Finland,†Andrei Spînu explained.
Commenting on the dissatisfaction of the Russian Federation with the fact that Moldova stores part of the purchased gas in Ukraine, Spinu said: "We can store the purchased gas anywhere. It is not for Putin to tell us."
