Most Georgian citizens consider the Russian Federation to be their country's main enemy, and this sentiment has increased compared to previous years, NewsGeorgia reports.

In a CRRC survey, 69% of respondents named Russia as Georgia's main enemy, compared to 66% in a similar study in 2021, 49% in 2019, 40% in 2017, and 35% in 2012.

Over the past 12 years, the proportion of those who believe that Georgia has no enemies has remained unchanged at 4%.

Currently, 4% of respondents see the USA as Georgia's enemy, while 2% see Turkey as such. In the 2012 survey, both countries were identified as enemies by 3%.

The responses to the question "Which country is currently Georgia's main friend?" were distributed as follows:

  • USA – 24%
  • Azerbaijan – 8%
  • Ukraine – 7%
  • Turkey – 4%
  • Germany – 4%
  • Armenia – 2%
  • Russia – 2%
  • France – 2%
  • Israel – 1%
  • China – 1%
  • Others – 3%

The survey was conducted from April 16 to May 13 in all regions of Georgia, except the temporarily Russian-occupied territories, and included 1,509 people.
