On the morning of August 6th, in Kyiv, the Ukrainian trident was installed on the monument "Motherland-Mother" to replace the dismantled Soviet coat of arms.
"It happened! The Ukrainian trident is in its place. It was a complex, responsible, and historical project. Thanks to everyone who made it happen - donors, designers, builders, sculptor, Museum of War staff, and all who supported and cheered for these changes," wrote former Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Oleksandr Tkachenko, in a telegram.
The coat of arms was delivered to the monument in the evening of August 5th, but due to the inability to fix it during the dark hours, the installation work was postponed until the morning. And already on Sunday, August 6th, the installation work was completed.
They plan to fully replace the Soviet symbols with the Ukrainian trident by Independence Day, August 24th.
