Over the last 1.5 years, more than 20 laws and regulatory acts have been adopted that have changed the rules of the game and allowed the opening of markets for the development of innovations and technologies. Currently, there are about 200 companies working with drones in Ukraine, and defense technology manufacturers receive grants from Brave1. Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, shared this information during a national marathon broadcast.
"A million drones per year is a quite realistic figure. Much depends on the characteristics of the drones in question. For example, FPV can be made for over a million. Companies already have enough capabilities to satisfy such a figure. The market has accelerated much faster than there is money to buy UAVs. Therefore, it is necessary to increase funding and open up markets. Competition is capable of generating innovations," noted Mykhailo Fedorov.
The Vice Prime Minister also mentioned that a new draft law on customs clearance in Diia (Action) has been submitted to Parliament. This will be the first case that shows how customs can operate without human intervention.
"We want to remove the factor of the official from the customs clearance of cars. This is an ideal design for any service we launch. We have submitted an updated draft law, but the key principle remains unchanged — a person does not determine the cost of customs clearance of a car. Customs clearance in Diia can be a demonstrative case of how the customs changes when there is no human factor. I am confident that we will be able to bring this project to a successful result," stated Mykhailo Fedorov.
