According to the general’s forecast, to achieve its goals in the Donbas, the Kremlin will transfer all available forces to the Bakhmut region.

Army General and ex-head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Mykola Malomuzh says that Putin plans to seize the entire Donbas before the New Year. And Bakhmut is extremely important for the aggressor.

But, as the general noted in an interview to Obozrevatel, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are effectively rebuffing the Russian occupiers in the Donetsk and Lugansk directions. Among the priority areas for the Russian Federation are both Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.

Malomuzh named the capture of Bakhmut a matter of Putin's personal prestige. According to him, the President of Russia has repeatedly set the task of capturing this city, but the occupying forces need to be succeeding in this. The transfer of Wagnerites and special forces does not help either.

According to the general's forecast, to achieve its goals in the Donbas, the Kremlin will transfer all available forces, including military equipment, to the Bakhmut region.

“By the New Year, the task is to capture the Donbas. But the Ukrainian army is powerfully opposing the implementation of these plans. Therefore, in my opinion, there are no prospects for capturing the entire Donbas,” he summed up.
