In 2025, the Naftogaz Group imported 5.7 billion cubic meters of gas to ensure the passage of the heating season. This was reported by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on Telegram following a meeting with Naftogaz Group CEO Serhii Koretskyi.

“We discussed the situation regarding the import of additional gas volumes. Thanks to 8 billion hryvnias allocated from the state budget and the support of international partners, the government, together with Naftogaz, ensured the import of 5.7 billion cubic meters of gas in 2025 for the stable passage of the heating season. This made it possible to replace volumes of domestic production lost due to massive missile strikes. We defined clear import parameters for the next period in order to get through this winter’s unprecedentedly difficult heating season,” Svyrydenko wrote.

She noted that during periods of severe frost across the country, 474 emergency crews of gas distribution networks are operating in an intensified mode, and more than 2,000 gas workers are involved in repairs at facilities and in responding to consumer calls.

According to Svyrydenko, special attention is being paid to frontline regions, including Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

“The situation is particularly difficult in Kherson, where enemy shelling has significantly destroyed energy facilities. Naftogaz has provided local residents with 1,750 electric and gas heaters along with gas cylinders and is continuously delivering additional equipment,” the head of government said.
