Due to Russian shelling of Kharkiv on January 23, the medium-pressure gas pipeline in the city suffered damage, which had not occurred since the beginning of this winter.

"On January 23, the medium-pressure gas pipeline in the territory of Kharkiv was hit. Throughout this winter, there have been no similar scale hits in the city's gas distribution sector," the statement reads.

It is noted that "Gas Lines" have eliminated the accident on the Kharkiv gas pipeline. However, the delivery of gas to the homes of Kharkiv residents will be restored after the elimination of all consequences of the Russian attack and the completion of repair work.

"Emergency dispatch teams of 'Gas Lines' immediately started to eliminate the accident. Work on the object will continue until the complete elimination of the consequences; the fire has been extinguished," emphasized in "Naftogaz."

According to the Ministry of Energy, to stabilize the pressure in the gas pipeline, a part of it has been shut down. 12 buildings have been disconnected from gas supply. 

There are no casualties or injuries among the workers.

In addition, in Kharkiv, almost 11 thousand consumers are without electricity due to enemy strikes. The equipment of the electricity distribution system operator has been damaged – transformer substations, distribution points, and cable lines.

As a result of shelling, consumers in settlements in the Kharkiv region are disconnected. Restoration works are ongoing.
