Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg (Ap) and Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik (Ap) confirmed today that the increased support for Ukraine was discussed and approved by the State Council.
Stoltenberg stated that a support package of 50 billion kroner was approved, in addition to the 35 billion from earlier, as reported by NRK.
The total support this year amounts to 85 billion kroner.
"We are tripling the military support," said Stoltenberg.

He pointed out that the money will be used abroad, and therefore does not contribute to pressure on the Norwegian economy.
There is broad support in the Parliament for the increased financial aid.
