President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide. The Head of State thanked Norway and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre personally for all the support provided to Ukraine from the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, as well as for the country’s active participation in the Coalition of the Willing.

One of the key topics of discussion was the energy situation in Ukraine. The President informed the minister about Russia’s daily attacks on civilian infrastructure, particularly energy facilities.

“We are grateful to Norway and the people of your country for such substantial support throughout this year. Seven billion solely for military assistance, as well as other projects. We are very thankful for your support following our truly major challenges in the energy sector. Thank you for your energy package. And we are grateful for today’s decision. The Minister informed me of an important decision — 400 million dollars,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Special attention during the meeting was devoted to diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just peace. The Head of State noted the significance of adopting the Paris Declaration and described it as a strong political signal from partners regarding the provision of reliable security guarantees to Ukraine.

The President and the Foreign Minister also discussed Norway’s participation in the PURL initiative, which enables the procurement of air-defense missiles, including for NASAMS systems, and emphasized the importance of further developing this initiative.

In addition, they addressed prospects for joint weapons production and other projects in the field of military cooperation.
