"Sunflower, maize and soybeans continue to account for most of the increase, contributing approximately 98% of the weekly growth in harvested volumes," the association said.

Sunflower production has reached 7.44 million tonnes, with 3.44 million hectares harvested, representing 65.6% of the forecast area. Over the week, production increased by 2.06 million tonnes, while the harvested area expanded by 897,600 hectares. The average yield stands at 2.16 tonnes per hectare.

The harvesting of wheat, barley, peas and rapeseed is almost complete. Wheat production stands at 26.15 million tonnes, barley at 6.55 million tonnes, peas at 823,700 tonnes and rapeseed at 3.88 million tonnes.

Odessa region leads Ukraine in total grain production with 5.65 million tonnes, followed by Dnipropetrovsk region with 2.83 million tonnes and Vinnytsia region with 2.73 million tonnes.

"By mid-October, sunflower harvesting had covered around two-thirds of the forecast area, while soybean harvesting was nearly three-quarters complete. Meanwhile, maize remains the main source of further growth in total production, as only around 13% of its forecast area had been harvested as of 12 October," said Maksym Hopka, head of UCAB's analytical department.
