"They can now call on everyone who is included in the register. Some estimates say it could be from 15 to 17 million people … In my opinion, general mobilization has been announced in Russia, and now it will take place at a fairly high pace and in large volumes," said military expert Oleg Zhdanov.
According to him, Putin needs "cannon fodder" to continue waging war in Ukraine.
"It seems to me that Putin can reach the point where it will be like near Stalingrad, when they gave one rifle for two: one - a rifle, the other - cartridges …. Today they are already forming not the motorized rifle, but rifle regiments."
