Oleg Zhdanov commented on the words of the speaker of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who said that without an advantage in the air, it would be tough for the Ukrainian military to carry out a counter-offensive under the fire of enemy artillery. The military expert agreed with the words of Yuriy Ignat, and also voiced an assumption that Ukraine could replace aviation in a counter-offensive.

“Unfortunately, only those aircraft that Slovakia and Poland are handing over to us today can be competitive in terms of aviation. Why? Because they have undergone modernization. The aircraft we have in service have never undergone modernization: they are technically sound and equipped with the devices that were still installed during the Soviet era," the military expert voiced up-to-date information on the state of Ukrainian aviation today.

Then Oleg Zhdanov said how Ukraine could get out of the situation and, in the absence of modern aircraft, achieve an advantage in the air at the time of the counter-offensive: “Those aircraft that are being transferred to us today by partners can use NATO-style weapons, including anti-radar missiles.

This may give us an advantage in the air. These planes will knock out enemy air defense systems, and the rest of the aviation will, against the background of the weakened capabilities of the Russian air defense system, cover our troops and inflict fire damage on their troops."
