More than 22 million tons of various cargo have been exported since the beginning of the operation of the temporary corridor through the Black Sea, known worldwide as the Ukrainian corridor. Over 700 vessels have utilized it since August. The transshipment takes place at three ports in Odessa region - Chornomorsk, Odessa, and Pivdennyi (Yuzhny). They were attacked by Russian drones again last night, unfortunately resulting in damage to infrastructure for transshipment and destruction of grain.
In total, since July 18 (the last day of operation of the "grain corridor"), nearly 200 objects of port infrastructure have been damaged as a result of RF attacks on Ukrainian seaports, and more than 26 civilians have been affected.
At the same time, port workers are recovering fairly quickly. I saw it with my own eyes today. Moreover, they increase the volume of transshipment every day.
More than 22 million tons in six months is not the limit. Modernization of both ports and associated infrastructure - road networks and railways - with proper security will allow increasing volumes by at least a quarter.
