Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have launched numerous strikes across several regions of Ukraine, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and civilian distress.
Zaporizhzhia Region
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that Russian forces conducted 490 strikes across 15 settlements. These included seven airstrikes targeting Stepnohirsk, Plavni, Huliaipole, and Bilohirya. Additionally, 328 UAVs, mostly FPV drones, attacked multiple communities such as Malokaterynivka, Andriivka, Hryhorivka, Bilenke, Kamianske, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne.
Huliaipole was also subjected to rocket attacks from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), while artillery strikes hit areas including Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novoselivka, and Charivne. Fifteen incidents of damage to apartments, private homes, and infrastructure were confirmed.
Tragically, overnight attacks with glide bombs (GABs) on Stepnohirsk killed a 64-year-old man.
Kharkiv Region
In the city of Chuhuiv, Russian shelling early in the morning caused injuries to four civilians and damaged residential buildings, a family doctor’s office, and an educational institution. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to manage the situation.
Dnipropetrovsk Region
During the night, Russian forces struck the Pavlohrad district with drone attacks targeting Verbkivska and Bohdanivska communities. A 52-year-old man was killed, and two others, aged 38 and 40, were injured but received medical assistance at the scene. A transport company was damaged by fire, which was quickly extinguished.
The Rozdory community in the Synelnykove district also faced UAV attacks, resulting in vehicle damage and a fire that was brought under control. Additionally, an FPV drone struck Nikopol, with damage still being assessed.
A separate strike on an electric locomotive in the region resulted in the death of the train driver and injury to his assistant, who remains in stable condition.
Kherson Region
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, reported that Russian attacks over the past day caused one death and nine injuries. Multiple settlements faced drone strikes and artillery shelling, affecting areas including Bilozerka, Dudchany, Shlyakhove, Mylove, Novodmytrivka, Beryslav, Novooleksandrivka, and the city of Kherson, among many others.
Damage included a multi-story building, 15 private homes, an “invincibility point,” a public transport stop, utility buildings, an ambulance, and a private car.
Donetsk Region
In Sloviansk, four Shahed-type drones attacked a Nova Poshta facility on Poshtova Street, damaging the building and nearby private homes. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Sumy Region
The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported over 100 strikes on 33 settlements between July 17 and 18, with the Sumy and Shostka districts most heavily affected. Russian forces used guided aerial bombs, drone-dropped grenades, and multiple MLRS strikes. Civil infrastructure suffered damage including private homes, a non-residential building, and vehicles. Despite the intensity, no civilian casualties or injuries were reported.
Authorities evacuated eight residents from border communities amid prolonged air raid sirens lasting over five hours.
