Viewers will have the opportunity to see animated picturesque canvases, slide shows of Ukrainian painting masterpieces, play online games, and watch video lectures. The "The Ark Ukraine" platform, together with the Lviv Institute of Collecting with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, has launched an online gallery called "14-21," which will showcase artistic works from museum and private collections, ranging from 14th-century Ruthenian icons to 21st-century contemporary artists.
The online gallery will feature over 500 art pieces, including works from the Rus era, iconography, Baroque sculptures by Pinzel, paintings by Vasylkivsky, Trush, Novakivsky, Kulchytska, Margit and Roman Selsky, Leopold Levytsky, Mykola Hlushchenko, graphics by Soroka and Zhuk, sculptures by Alexander Archipenko and Roman Petruk.
In the online gallery, viewers will also have the opportunity to see animated picturesque canvases, slide shows of Ukrainian painting masterpieces, participate in online games, as well as watch video lectures and read scientific articles from leading Ukrainian art experts.
"With this project, we aim to reset cultural stereotypes about Ukraine. Recognizing the responsibility of distributing state funds during wartime, we declare that #culture_in_time, and now is the best moment to step onto the 'starting line' of the cultural front. For the first time in history, Ukrainians have gained sufficient symbolic capital on the international stage for our cultural heritage to start receiving global attention," the project's authors noted.
