Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk has by his directive created a Council for Cooperation with Ukraine. The new public body will deal with bilateral relations and reconstruction issues.

This was announced by the authorized representative for Ukraine's recovery in the Polish government, Pawel Kowal, according to PAP.

"It will be a public body comprising representatives from science, business, government, and local authorities. Its composition will be formed in the coming weeks," Kowal noted.

According to him, various working groups will operate within the Council, which will cooperate with Polish analytical centers and have representations in regions.

The authorized representative for Ukraine's recovery also emphasized that the detailed structure and functions of the body will be determined in the near future. However, it is already known that the idea is to create an institution that will apply a comprehensive approach to Polish-Ukrainian relations.

"We proceed from the assumption that they are unique, not only due to historical issues but also due to Poland's participation in assisting Ukraine and Poland's role in its recovery process," he added.

He also added that the goal of the Council is to ensure the participation of as many Polish companies, local authorities, and non-governmental organizations as possible in the process of Ukraine's recovery.
