Polish Government plans to accept all three demands from farmers and begin implementation

The Polish government has announced its intention to accept all three demands from farmers and initiate their implementation. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak made this statement, as reported by RMF24.

"The Ministry accepts all three demands from the farmers and is committed to their implementation," he stated.

This follows the demands presented by the organization "Podkarpacka Oszukana Wieś," which is expected to decide today whether to resume the protest at the "Medyka" border crossing.

In particular, "Podkarpacka Oszukana Wieś" sought to introduce subsidies for corn and increase farmers' financing to 2.5 billion zlotys.

"It concerns maintaining the agricultural tax at the level of 2023. It has increased - it depends on the price of wheat. Changes to the law, which the Sejm is expected to pass, have been prepared. Local government bodies that agree to apply tax exemptions (...) will receive state compensation," Kolodziejczak explained.
