Denmark has provided over ₴6 million worth of equipment to the police in Mykolaiv region, ensuring operations continue during power outages.
This was announced on Facebook by the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine.
“Police work doesn’t stop when the electricity goes out — thanks to joint efforts by Denmark and UNDP in Ukraine, the police in Mykolaiv region are now better equipped to serve their communities during blackouts and other emergencies,” the statement reads.
It is noted that Denmark has upgraded and delivered equipment worth over ₴6 million to the Mykolaiv police.
The support package includes the creation of a modern situation center to enable 24/7 police coordination, 165 mobile charging devices for field operations, modern furniture, IT equipment, and backup power systems for eight police stations in frontline settlements: Polihon, Pervomaiske, Shyroke, Snihurivka, Vasylivka, Novovasylivka, Barativka, and Halytsynove.
“A capable, well-equipped, and community-responsive police force is crucial for maintaining stability in frontline areas. We support initiatives that help law enforcement not only fulfill their duties, but also improve access to safety and protection for civilians,” said Jakob Thorrild Hansen, Head of the Danish Embassy Office in Mykolaiv.
This equipment will help police teams respond more quickly, stay connected, and continue supporting the local population — particularly in areas affected by shelling and energy instability.
