The documentary explores the different forms resistance can take and has been praised by Deadline as an "artistic triumph" for its use of Andriy Stefanov’s photographs, animation fragments, and the music of Dakhabrakha. Deadline notes that even the war footage evokes a sense of unsettling intimacy, further emphasizing the personal and emotional depth of the film.

Also "Porcelain War" has been included in the shortlist for the 2025 Academy Awards, alongside "Once Upon a Time in Ukraine" by Betsy West and Earl Mac.
