Ukraine aims to establish strong relations with Hungary, grounded in principles of equality and mutual respect, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a press conference in Budapest.
The President expressed gratitude to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for the invitation to the fifth European Political Community Summit. The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine is interested in friendly and productive relations with Hungary.
“Clarity in agreements is essential for us. There are issues regarding minorities. We have done a lot, and the European Commission’s findings show that there are no concerns on this issue with us. We respect the Hungarian minority in Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President also stressed that a bilateral agreement between Ukraine and Hungary must include support for Ukraine’s NATO membership.
"We are willing to do anything to ensure that there are no disputes between us. A bilateral agreement, a treaty, is about respect and seeing each other as equals,” the President summarized.
