During his official visit to the United Kingdom, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a formal audience with His Majesty King Charles III. In the meeting, the Ukrainian leader expressed his gratitude to the King, the royal family, and the British people for their unwavering support amid Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

While in London, President Zelensky also met with key figures of the UK Parliament, including Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, and John McFall, Lord Speaker of the House of Lords. He thanked the British government, Parliament, and citizens for their principled backing of Ukraine since the onset of the war.

The discussions centered on ongoing cooperation and support, the importance of transatlantic unity, and joint diplomatic efforts with allies to halt Russian aggression and bring the war to an end. President Zelensky underscored the critical need to maintain pressure on Russia through comprehensive sanctions targeting its banking and energy sectors.

The talks also addressed broader international concerns, including the situation in the Middle East and the risks posed by Russia’s growing ties with North Korea and Iran.

Both sides solemnly recalled the atrocities committed by Russian forces in Bucha and other occupied Ukrainian towns, with the United Kingdom reiterating its strong condemnation of all Russian war crimes.

Speaker Lindsay Hoyle reaffirmed the full and unanimous support for Ukraine across both Houses of Parliament, emphasizing the united stance of the UK in backing the Ukrainian people.

Lord Speaker John McFall thanked President Zelensky for the visit and assured that Britain’s support for Ukraine will remain steadfast throughout the ongoing war.
