Mikhail Shatsky, the Deputy Chief Designer at the Mars Design Bureau and head of the software department, has been eliminated in Moscow. He was responsible for modernizing the X-59 missiles to the X-69 model, which are used by Russian forces to strike Ukraine.
The death of Shatsky was first reported by Russian journalist Alexander Nevzorov, who claimed the operation was carried out by Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate.
"Today, the Main Intelligence Directorate eliminated the particularly harmful criminal, Mikhail Shatsky, in Moscow," Nevzorov stated on his Telegram channel.
According to Nevzorov, Shatsky was involved in the modernization of the X-59 cruise missiles, the introduction of new drones, and is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Ukrainians.
According to open sources, the Russian Federation, based on the Mars Design Bureau, is involved in the modernization and production of guidance systems for booster stages and onboard control systems for cruise missiles manufactured by the Raduga State Design Bureau as part of a state defense contract.
Raduga itself specializes in the development and production of various types of cruise missiles.
In addition to this specialization, Shatsky was also involved in the development and reliability forecasting of onboard control systems for spacecraft, utilizing neural network theory, as well as several other issues related to spacecraft technology.
