On June 2, a summit of countries from NATO’s eastern and northern flanks will take place in Vilnius, where further support for Ukraine is expected to be discussed with Volodymyr Zelensky.
This was reported on the website of the President of Lithuania.
According to the announcement, representatives from the Bucharest Nine (Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Estonia), as well as countries of Northern Europe (Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden), and Ukraine will attend the summit.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will also take part in the event.
The meeting will focus on strengthening the security and defense of NATO’s eastern flank and on preparations for the NATO summit scheduled for June 24–25 in The Hague.
“It is planned to discuss further support for Ukraine with President Volodymyr Zelensky,” the statement emphasized.
