The Security Service of Ukraine is systematically gathering evidence of Russian oligarchs and businessmen's involvement in funding Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. This is one of the necessary steps to consider them in conjunction with Russia's war crimes at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

"Every sponsor of Russian terrorism should sit on the bench next to Putin because they are accomplices to these crimes. For their money, Russia launches missiles and drones. The SBU will do everything to investigate all business chains leading to war financing and to bring them before the international tribunal. Ultimately, Russian assets should work in favor of Ukraine. Today, the SBU is actively 'de-Russifying' businesses that work for the enemy, strictly following its line on sanctions, arrests, and confiscation," said the Head of the SSU, Vasyl Maliuk.

According to the SSU's materials, during 2022-2023, business assets of Russian oligarchs were arrested for nearly 190 billion hryvnias. This includes corporate rights and real estate of dozens of enterprises, the ultimate beneficiaries of which are Russian corporations such as "Rosneft," "Rosatom," "Gazprom," "Rostec," "RusAl," "HMS Group," "Tatneft," banks, and others.

Additionally, at the initiative of the SBU, economic sanctions were imposed on over 4,000 Russian companies that directly finance the military invasion, assist the aggressor state in bypassing sanctions, and procure military materials, equipment, and weapon components in other countries.

Vasyl Maliuk stated that the security service has compiled a list of Russian businesses that finance the war and is conducting comprehensive checks on each individual. All information will be included in criminal proceedings for consideration at the international tribunal.
