After provocations in Russian-occupied Transnistria, people in a panic run deep into Moldova or towards Odessa. They admit that we are safer because there is a guarantor during the war - the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was told by the speaker of the Odessa Military Administration, Sergey Bratchuk on the air of Channel 24.
“This is explained quite simply when they ask: “Are we at war here? Where are you going?†They say: “You have a very good guarantor during the war – the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They understand that what is happening there is preparation for a certain springboard for, possibly, armed provocations against Ukraine," the speaker said.
The situation around unrecognized Transnistria rapidly escalated. Plans for a landing are also being voiced in the region.
"If Russia really wants to land troops in Transnistria, then they will fly over the territory of Ukraine, our Armed Forces will shoot down military aircraft," he added.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry condemns attempts to draw the Transnistrian region of Moldova into the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian troops, located on the Transnistrian region of Moldova, are on full combat readiness.
The day before, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russian troops want to carry out a missile attack on Transnistria.
