The Ukrainian Air Forces reported the destruction of a Russian frontline bomber Su-24M in the area of Zmiiny (Snake) Island. This information was disclosed in a statement by the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Forces, Mykola Oleshchuk.
It is reported that the Su-24M, operating under the cover of the Su-30SM fighter, attempted to launch a missile and bomb strike in the southern part of the Odesa region.
"Thanks to the successfully conducted operation by the 'South' air command, the Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile unit sent the Russian 'dry' (Su-24M) after the 'Russian military ship'," the post mentioned.
The destruction of the bomber was indirectly confirmed by the Russian blogger Fighterbomber (Ilya Tumanov), who published a photo of the aircraft on his Telegram channel.
