During the night of July 28 (starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 27), Russian forces launched 131 attack drones, including Shahed attack drones (some jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy drones, from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, and Oryol in Russia, as well as occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
The aerial attack was repelled by Ukraine's Air Force, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., Ukraine's air defenses had shot down or suppressed 107 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of Russian drones over the country's north, south, center, and east.
Russian drones struck 16 targets across nine locations. Debris from downed drones was also recorded at six locations.
