During the night of July 24 (from 6:00 p.m. on July 23), Russia launched five Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles from airspace over the Black Sea, along with 180 attack drones, including Shahed loitering munitions (some jet-powered), Gerbera and Italmas UAVs, as well as Parodiya decoy drones.
The drones were launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk, Hvardiiske and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air assault was repelled by Ukraine’s Air Force, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) forces, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defences had shot down or suppressed four Kh-59/69 guided missiles and 160 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other UAV types, across northern, southern and eastern Ukraine.
One guided missile struck its target, while 14 attack drones hit targets at nine locations. Debris from intercepted aerial targets was reported at eight additional sites.
