On the night of January 20 (from 7:00 p.m. on January 19), the Russian forces launched an attack using one Zircon anti-ship missile (launched from the occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea), 18 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles (launched from Bryansk and Rostov regions of the Russian Federation), 15 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launched from Vologda region, Russian Federation), as well as 339 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and drones of other types from the following directions: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo, Bryansk (Russian Federation), Hvardiiske and Chauda (occupied Crimea), and occupied Donetsk. About 250 of them were Shahed drones.
The main direction of the attack was the Kyiv region.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 10:00 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 342 targets: 14 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles, 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles, and 315 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, east, and center of the country.
Five missiles and 24 attack UAVs were recorded hitting 11 locations. In addition, debris from downed UAVs fell in 12 locations. Information regarding two missiles is under clarification.
