Aleksey Arestovich, the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, assured that today the threat of an attack on Kyiv from Belarus has not increased. Self-proclaimed President Alexander Lukashenko understands that the Belarusian army will not go anywhere.
Moreover, the people's militia organized by Lukashenko was generally created against the Russian threat.
Arestovich spoke about this in a conversation with Russian human rights activist Mark Feygin on June 1.
"The threats of an offensive from Belarus to Kyiv have not grown - ed.). Alexander Grigorievich is maneuvering between pressure from the Kremlin and the understanding that the Belarusian army will not attack nobody," said the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office.
"And the people's militia was generally created against the Russian threat because the Ukrainians will not go on the offensive against Belarus. This is impossible, we will immediately be considered aggressors with all the consequences. From whom to defend? Moreover, you need to carefully study the experience of the Ukrainian army, which is infantry there with grenade launchers successfully there through the forests, through the bushes, she managed to stop the offensive tank columns of the enemy ⦠And what kind of enemy tank columns are expected in Belarus, if - neither Ukraine, nor Poland, nor Lithuania? It is clear that they are Russian," Arestovich explained.
He added that at the same time, Lukashenko "throws the dice, shows it to Russian propaganda, says the right words, shows that I have created an operational command in the direction of Ukraine, and so on."
Recall, on June 1, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the threat of missile and airstrikes from the territory of Belarus remains.
