Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that his country’s support for Ukraine will continue until peace is achieved.
This was reported by The Epoch Times.
“Italy will continue to assist Ukraine until peace comes, but we hope that as soon as possible there will no longer be a need to send weapons to Kyiv,” the official said.
Tajani added that yesterday he reiterated to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Italy supports the United States’ efforts to achieve a ceasefire.
“Negotiations are ongoing. We are working to end this horrific period that has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. Italy is doing everything possible to support peace efforts, but until peace is reached, we will continue helping Ukraine,” the minister emphasized, referring to the launch of the twelfth aid package for Ukraine.
According to Tajani, Russian leader Vladimir Putin must demonstrate his willingness to end the war “not with words, but through actions, because only actions matter.”
