The METRO Ukraine team categorically condemns the criminal aggression of Russia against Ukraine - this was stated at the company's office in Kyiv.

"From the first days of a full-scale invasion, we have repeatedly appealed to the METRO headquarters in Düsseldorf demanding the immediate closure of business on the territory of the aggressor state. Unfortunately, METRO AG still remains in Russia. At the same time, the position of the Ukrainian team is and will remain unchanged "METRO must leave the Russian market. We continue to fight and try to convince the headquarters in every possible way," the Kyiv office of METRO Ukraine explained.

They recalled that the METRO Ukraine team is working to ensure the state's food security and supports the operation of its shopping centers where possible - in all regions of Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territories.

“METRO employees work in difficult conditions so that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and professional clients receive food and other goods daily,” the Ukrainian company said.

Also, the local team of METRO Ukraine actively carries out a humanitarian mission, daily transferring tens of thousands of units of goods in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Territorial Defense Forces, hospitals, and volunteer organizations.

"The inventory of our temporarily closed shopping centers in Mariupol and Mykolaiv was transferred to the needs of the Ukrainian army and local communities. We work for the well-being of Ukrainians and make many efforts to be heard at the headquarters," METRO Ukraine said.

During the year of the war, METRO Ukraine sent more than UAH 40 million worth of goods to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and migrants. - including 613 tons of food, 34 tons of non-food, 65 tons of household chemicals, and hygiene products. In total, 227 military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, territorial defense units, 34 hospitals, and 197 charitable organizations received assistance.
