As of the morning of January 8, about 800,000 consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk region remain without electricity; eight mines were left without power as a result of a Russian strike the previous day.
This was reported at a briefing by Acting Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov.
“By the morning, around 800,000 consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk region remain without electricity. Repair work is ongoing in the region to restore power and heating to consumers. Social and critical infrastructure facilities are partially supplied with power. As a result of the strike, eight mines in the Dnipropetrovsk region were also de-energized,” Nekrasov said.

He added that the miners had been brought to the surface by morning.
Power supply in the Zaporizhzhia region has been restored; however, energy workers are urging residents to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances to avoid renewed mass outages.
Due to severe weather conditions, settlements in the Chernihiv, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Zakarpattia regions were fully or partially left without electricity as of Thursday morning. Repair crews from regional energy companies are working to restore power supply.
In addition, emergency outages were forced in the Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions in the morning. A gradual transition from emergency shutdowns to scheduled hourly outage plans is underway.
