The loss of the western bank of the Dnieper River will prevent the Russian Federation from realizing its strategic aspiration - to create a land corridor to Odessa.

The departure of the Russian invaders from the right-bank part of the Kherson region will be carried out within several days with defensive positions and covering the retreating forces with artillery fire.

In a recent review, British intelligence noted that Russia's ability to maintain its forces on the western bank of the Dnieper was threatened by Ukrainian strikes against Russian supply routes.

During the retreat, Russian forces destroyed several bridges and likely laid mines to slow down and delay the advance of Ukrainian troops.

“The loss of the western bank of the Dnieper River near Kherson will most likely prevent Russia from realizing its strategic ambition to create a land corridor to Odessa. Due to the limited number of crossing points, Russian forces will be vulnerable during the crossing of the Dnieper. The withdrawal will likely be carried out within several days with defensive positions and artillery fire covering the retreating forces," the review explains.
