The British intelligence notes an increase in daily personnel losses for the Russian forces in the war against Ukraine and predicts that at the current rates, the overall figure will surpass 500,000 by 2025.

This information is provided in the intelligence review from the Ministry of Defence of Britain dated December 30, concerning the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The intelligence report highlights that during the course of 2023, the average daily number of Russian casualties (killed and wounded) in Ukraine has risen by almost 300 per day compared to 2022.

"The increase in daily averages, as reported by the Ukrainian authorities, almost certainly reflects the degradation of Russia’s forces and its transition to a lower quality, high quantity mass army since the ‘partial mobilisation’ of reservists in September 2022", according to intelligence.

Analysts note that if the current rates of losses persist throughout 2024, Russia's casualties, both killed and wounded, will exceed half a million by 2025. Intelligence emphasizes that during the 9 years of the Soviet Union's war in Afghanistan, it lost approximately 70,000 personnel.
