The Czech Republic will deliver at least 1.5 million large-caliber rounds of ammunition to Ukraine and continue training Ukrainian pilots on modern fighter jets.

This was announced by Prime Minister Petr Fiala after the “Coalition of the Willing” meeting on September 4, as reported by Novinky.cz.

According to Fiala, the Czech Republic will supply Ukraine with at least 1.5 million large-caliber rounds by the end of the year, as it did last year.

“I want to emphasize that we will honor our commitments under the ammunition initiative. We will deliver at least 1.5 million rounds to Ukraine, as we did last year, and I believe this year we will exceed that number. We are also continuing to train Ukrainian soldiers and pilots on F-16 simulators,” the prime minister said.

Fiala also noted that next year the Czech Republic aims to reach 2.35% of GDP in defense spending. He added that, in addition to acquiring modern fighter jets and other systems, the Czech government recently approved the purchase of Leopard 2A8 tanks.
