This opinion was expressed by the former commander of US troops in Europe, Ben Hodges in an interview with Channel 24.
He is sure that in this situation, the Russian-occupied Crimea will be under Ukrainian control as early as next year.
"I'm sure the Russians don't have the will to fight. They don't join the army. The Kremlin is looking for reserves in North Korea, Africa, Syria. Hodges added that the Russians would "fall apart" if unity and all support for Ukraine were maintained:
"I feel like we're in for some tough fighting over the next few weeks, and potentially Russian troops going down the drain. I don't see how they can improve their situation anytime soon. However, we need to provide Ukraine with everything it needs."
