The Russian forces are unable to amass forces near Ukraine’s northern borders thanks to a well-constructed defence system and strikes deep into Russian territory.

As reported by Vadym Mysnyk, spokesperson for the Siversk operational-tactical group of troops, stated this on a television broadcast.

"Along the border of the Chernihiv, Sumy, and parts of Kharkiv regions, enemy presence is observed all along the frontier. There also remains a threat of the enemy deploying sabotage and reconnaissance groups or small infantry units attempting to infiltrate our territory, build up forces, and expand the combat zone. But the enemy has failed in this – our defence system is built quite effectively, and we manage to destroy the enemy on approach – both the sites where they stockpile ammunition, artillery, and other equipment, as well as individual infantry groups," Mysnyk said.

According to him, the main concentration of Rusian forces is taking place in Russia’s Kursk region, in the direction of the Sumy region, but thanks to strikes deep into Russian territory, the Defence Forces are preventing the Russian troops from concentrating a large formation there.

He added:

"We see the enemy presence, we are closely monitoring their movements. However, we are not observing the formation of any new powerful groupings for offensive operations. The main concentration of enemy forces is in the Kursk region, which is why the Sumy direction is strategic. And here we are using all available means to strike deep into enemy territory, preventing them from gaining the initiative," Mysnyk assured.
