The situation on the southern front continues to worsen, with the number of attacks by Russian forces increasing both on the ground and in the air.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

According to the spokesperson, just last week there were 169 combat engagements in the south. These include assaults on Ukrainian positions as well as battles while destroying Russian groups attempting to break through deep into the defenses.

“In the south, the number of missile strikes has increased, as well as the use of Shahed-type drones. The number of Shaheds has risen by 80%. The enemy used about a hundred such drones daily in the south,” the spokesperson said.

Voloshyn also added that the use of FPV drones increased by 3%. Russian activity continues in certain areas over the past 24 hours.

“Over the past day, 37 combat engagements were recorded in the Prydniprovsk, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, and Oleksandrivka directions, with the most in the Oleksandrivka sector, where the enemy tried to assault our positions 21 times, including using motorcycles and vehicles,” he noted.

He also reported that near the settlement of Oleksiivka, the Russian forces attempted assaults using units in five vehicles, and during attacks near Verbove, motorcycles were used.
