Denys Shmyhal received 267 votes from Members of Parliament.
In his speech from the Verkhovna Rada podium, he outlined three key areas of work:
People. At the center is the Ukrainian soldier. Our task is quality provision, timely payments, reliable gear, modern communications, and medical support.
Weapons. We must increase armament to a level that breaks the enemy’s ability to fight. Primarily — Ukrainian production. The President’s goal is to raise the share of domestically produced weapons at the front from 40% to 50% within six months. At the same time, we are strengthening cooperation with partners and building a coalition of capabilities.
System. The Ministry must work smoothly, without delays or unnecessary bureaucracy. No duplication of functions. We are betting on speed and flexibility in decision-making.
“I am confident that our joint work will yield results. We will ensure a force that brings peace and prevents aggression in the future,” emphasized the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
