Ukrainian and UK Defense Ministers Denys Shmyhal and John Healey agreed to produce Ukrainian-designed interceptor drones in the United Kingdom.
The agreement, signed in London, follows previous arrangements between the President of Ukraine and the British Prime Minister on developing industrial cooperation.
The first batch will consist of 1,000 drones, all of which will be delivered to Ukraine.
“Interceptor drones have already proven their effectiveness against Russia’s Shahed terror. We will continue to scale up these projects, attract investment, and improve technologies to defend Ukrainian cities and civilians as effectively as possible from Russian air attacks,” said Ukraine’s Defense Minister.
During the meeting with John Healey, Denys Shmyhal discussed aspects of implementing the agreement.
“This arrangement is a significant step in implementing the Century Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the UK,” Shmyhal emphasized.
The ministers also reviewed the outcomes of the latest Ramstein-format meeting and agreed on key topics for the next session, scheduled for October.
