Dnipro and New York have signed an official cooperation agreement. The mayor of Dnipro called the event “a true miracle.”
This was reported on Telegram by Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov:
"Today a true miracle has happened. We managed to sign an official agreement with New York! I sincerely believe that for our frontline city, this is a truly historic event—one of those we couldn’t even dream of just a few years ago. A huge American metropolis, whose economic power can rival that of entire developed countries. So, imagining that New York and Dnipro would have any connection was, to say the least, pure fantasy. And now it has become reality,” he wrote.

The friendly cooperation agreement between the cities was signed by the mayors of Dnipro and New York, Eric Adams, in the historic New York City Hall building. Borys Filatov promised that all details would be shared later.
He also recalled that in the summer of 2022, an agreement with the Japanese city of Osaka had been stolen. In the five years before the full-scale invasion, technical meetings, negotiations, and attempts to reach an agreement had been ongoing.
According to Filatov, during the ongoing war, aid to Dnipro from the Japanese people and government has reached tens of millions of dollars.
