Drone attack sparks fire at Odessa region energy facility

In the Odessa region, as a result of a nighttime attack by Russian drones, a fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility, leaving one person injured.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on Facebook.

"At night, Russia once again carried out a massive attack on the region using strike UAVs. According to preliminary information, one person was injured," the statement said.

 

As a result of the strikes, a large-scale fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility.

According to the State Emergency Service, 54 rescuers and 16 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the Russian attack. A Ukrzaliznytsia fire train and the local fire brigade were also engaged.

UPDATE

The Russian Telegram channel Shot reports that during the attack, the tanker Excellion was damaged. The vessel had arrived the day before at the port of Izmail with a shipment of petroleum products.

According to NaftoRynok, the ship was carrying diesel fuel intended for the company Anvitrade of the Wexler group.

Additionally, the Izmail port authorities reported damage to the port’s onshore infrastructure.
