As a result of explosions caused by explosive objects left by Russian forces during the full-scale war in Ukraine, 887 people were affected, with 227 of them losing their lives. The Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko reported this on Telegram.
"610 people were injured, 277 lost their lives. Enemy metal claimed the lives of 14 children," the minister noted.
According to him, the most affected areas are in the Kharkiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.
Klymenko emphasized that the sapper units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working continuously to quickly clear Ukrainian land of explosive objects. As of today, almost 755 thousand explosive items have already been neutralized.
"However, about a third of Ukraine's territory still remains contaminated. Under no circumstances approach suspicious findings and do not touch them," emphasized the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Klymenko calls on citizens to urgently report any suspicious objects to the State Emergency Service or the police if discovered.
