Russia carried out a massive strike on Ukraine, hitting an American electronics manufacturer in the country’s west — another act of terror against civilians and businesses with no military logic.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated this on the social network X.
“Contrary to all efforts to end the war, Russia undertook a massive combined air strike on Ukraine overnight. Hundreds of drones, hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles on civilian and energy infrastructure. One of the missiles struck a major American electronics manufacturer in our westernmost region, leading to serious damage and casualties. A fully civilian facility that has nothing to do with defense or the military.,” Sybiha wrote.
He added that this was not Russia’s first attack on American businesses in Ukraine, recalling earlier strikes on Boeing offices in Kyiv earlier this year and other incidents.
“No military logic or necessity, just terror against people, businesses, and normal life in our country. This is why efforts to force Russia to end the war are so critical and we reiterate Ukraine’s willingness to make every effort to bring peace closer,” the Ukrainian foreign minister stressed.
In this context, Sybiha highlighted the decisive importance of bilateral Ukraine-Russia talks and trilateral Ukraine-U.S.-Russia meetings for a diplomatic settlement. Equally important, he noted, is securing reliable security guarantees for Ukraine from partners, including the United States and European allies.
“Overnight strikes also demonstrate the urgency of strengthening Ukraine’s air defense with additional systems and interceptors.,” the minister emphasized.
The number of people injured in the Russian strike on an enterprise in Mukachevo has risen to 15.
This was reported to Ukrinform by Marina Bezeha, spokesperson for the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
“As of 9 a.m., the number of injured as a result of the strike on the enterprise in Mukachevo has increased to 15. People are continuing to seek medical assistance,” she said.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the Russian army carried out the strike on Mukachevo using two Kalibr-type missiles.
