Another Russian attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities proves that Russia does not seek peace, said the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová.
“Three days. That is all it took for Russia to launch another massive combined assault on Kyiv. Before rescue workers had even finished clearing the rubble from last week’s attack, missiles and drones were once again raining down on Ukraine’s capital,” Mathernová wrote on the social media platform X.
She stressed that the massive attack was not directed at military targets.
“It was another deliberate attack on civilians. At least 15 multi-story residential buildings were hit, including a nine-story building in Podil,” the ambassador noted.
She added that the strikes also hit settlements around Kyiv, including the Bucha district. Odessa also suffered a major strike.
“Every new strike sends the same message: Russia is not seeking peace. It is trying to exhaust Ukraine, terrorise its people and break their will. It will not succeed. It cannot succeed,” Mathernová concluded.
