This was the first visit of a French general to the territory of Ukraine.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny summed up the results of the meeting with the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of the French Republic, Thierry Burkhard.
He stressed that this was the general's first visit to Ukraine, which is a clear signal of support for our country in the war against the aggressor. Zaluzhny also noted in his Telegram that the parties discussed military support for Ukraine during the meeting. The dialogue was quite "meaningful" and concerned the F-16 fighters.
"We were familiarized with the situation at the front. He dwelt in detail on Ukraine's need for artillery shells and other ammunition, air defense equipment and F-16 fighters," Zaluzhny said.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed that the parties agreed to continue fruitful cooperation on these issues and share combat experience.
