The Cabinet of Ministers is launching a program to provide 10,000 UAH per hectare to farmers who grow cotton.
This was announced by the initiator of the state support program for cotton cultivation, Member of Parliament and Deputy Head of the Agricultural Committee Stepan Cherniavskyi.
“We managed to get the government to approve my initiative for financial support for cotton cultivation by farmers at the rate of 10,000 UAH per hectare. This is undoubtedly a victory. Cotton is a chance for farmers to reboot their operations, especially in Odessa and the southern regions of Ukraine. Furthermore, cotton is a component of gunpowder production, which is vital for the country’s security. I thank the government and all my fellow MPs who helped push through this state support, and more will follow,” he said.
According to Cherniavskyi, the total amount of the program will be calculated based on the actual number of applications submitted. Applications will be accepted in the State Agricultural Register from June 10 to July 10, 2025. The regional military administrations will verify and submit them to the Ministry by August 10. The Ministry will process payments by September 15. Only farmers will be eligible to receive this support.
Farmers in Mykolaiv, Odessa, and Kherson regions are eligible for this support.
