Finland has already provided Ukraine with 29 military aid packages and is currently preparing the next one.
This was stated by Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo at a joint press conference with European Council President António Costa on Monday, September 8, in Helsinki.
“The European Union has demonstrated its strength during this war—Russia’s aggression against Ukraine—and we need to continue doing this together. If all 26 member states wish to help Ukraine, we must find a way to support it,” said the Finnish Prime Minister.
He also reminded that Finland has already delivered 29 military aid packages to Ukraine and is “currently preparing the next one.”
“We are an active part of the Coalition of the Willing and proud of the role our president plays,” Orpo added, noting that every political party in Finland supports Ukraine.
Regarding sanctions pressure on Russia, Orpo highlighted efforts to combat the “shadow fleet,” which finances the Kremlin’s military machine and also poses threats to the Baltic countries, including environmental risks.
